Lockdown, Kids, and Pets

Striking data helps you help your pets

Amid all the drama and hype about the COVID-19 pandemic, some sterling unexpected data has come forth. If your goal is safer prevention for your animals, these data shout “CAUTION!”

This is eye opening hard data that the main stream media won’t be sharing with you. It’s totally counter to the current agenda of having you think the only way we can “get back to normal” lies with a new SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. That vaccine is being rushed in development as this is written and its safety concerns are many.

Much like your animals, children innocently respond to things that are given to them.

Or, in this case, withheld.

Fact: While the all cause mortality rate for seniors rose, the normal incidence of child mortality dropped significantly from March 2020 when the lockdown started.

the pandemic experience has brought on a surprising effect on this expected death rate among children. Starting in early March, expected deaths began a sharp decline, from an expected level of around 700 deaths per week to well under 500 by mid‐April and throughout May.1

Whoa.

They have an “expected level” from years of tracking these “all cause” deaths. Lots and lots of data.

And when lockdown started, that level dropped sharply, as this graph reveals:

Source2

That brown line falling so precipitously is 2020 data, deaths of people under 18 years of age. The other lines are the same age group for the years 2014-19.

The Big WHY?

Maybe there are lots of reasons for this decline in child mortality as the U.S. locked down (these are US data throughout).

Go ahead, try to explain it, ye experts and statisticians:

Was this a protective effect of school closures? Were teenagers getting themselves into risky situations at a lower rate? No. There was very little effect among school age children or adolescents. [3]

Virtually the entire change came from infants. Somehow, the changing pattern of American life during the lockdowns has been saving the lives of hundreds of infants, over 200 per week.3

Infants? Hmmmm. Infants are really a lot like your pets, so stay with me here…

What has changed during this period that might have such an effect? Are infant deaths not being recorded? Are parents taking better care of their families while working remotely and their children are not going to school? There are many possible hypotheses about the infant death decline.

One very clear change that has received publicity is that public health officials are bemoaning the sharp decline in infant vaccinations as parents are not taking their infants into pediatric offices for their regular well‐baby checks. In the May 15 issue of the CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), a group of authors from the CDC and Kaiser Permanente reported a sharp decline in provider orders for vaccines as well as a decline in pediatric vaccine doses administered. [8] These declines began in early march, around the time infant deaths began declining.4

Oh oh. Those babes were not getting their routine shots!

But doesn’t that put them at even greater risk? From all the bad germs in their world?

Doesn’t look like it, no:

…as the saying goes, “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” What no one would have predicted in advance of Covid19 is that the extreme lockdown response has produced a natural experiment that actually calls into question the very actions—widespread, mandated vaccines for all‐‐that the infectious disease and public health community have been pushing for years.

We should mourn the deaths of the elderly Manhattan nursing home residents but also take heed of the hundreds of avoided infant deaths. Only with that kind of balance will we draw the proper lessons from the pandemic and the lockdowns that have followed in its wake.5

Kids. Pets. Vaccinations.

We’ve learned a few things over the years of watching vaccines in dogs and cats, and the parallels with children are striking.

Both are getting chronically ill in record numbers.

Children in the United States are experiencing a serious and historically unprecedented burden of chronic illness. American children display consistently poorer health outcomes than children in other wealthy nations, notwithstanding substantially higher per capita health care spending on U.S. children.6

Cancer is the most common cause of death in dogs, affecting approximately four million dogs per year.7

(The cancer quote above is 2015 data, and, judging from the comments I see regularly around Apoquel’s likely side effects, that number is now much higher).

While there are many variables, including pesticide use, toxic food, and neutering (especially early life neutering), the use of vaccines in children has ramped up wildly since the 80’s and pets that used to get vaccinated once or twice in their lives are now, far too commonly, getting annual vaccines.

Chronic disease is far easier to prevent than to cure.

Believe me when I tell you that conventional veterinary medicine has no chance of curing your chronically ill dog or cat, whether that’s ongoing itchy skin, diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disease, or the many other forms of lingering illness seen daily in homes and vet clinics.

This is the infant child/pet parallel to consider deeply:

Most chronic disease is caused by what appears to be well-meaning “prevention.”

Return to “normal?” Beware…

If your version of lockdown’s lifting includes friendly emails and postcards coming from your local vet that Sadie’s “overdue” vaccines can now be given, that should be greeted with cool research before you load up and comply.

Odds are, if Sadie’s already been vaccinated, she’s done. Duration of immunity is worthy of your deep understanding.

More importantly, the safety of vaccines should be a serious concern and you can follow the data for your pets and that of the children, hundreds of whom have been spared dying as an unintended benefit of pandemic lockdowns.

Let us know in the comments if you’re seeing a renewed push to bring your pets in for routine “prevention” and how you’re viewing that.

If that falling infant death rate helps you get clear on your next decision around vaccinations, you’re welcome. Kids, pets — they are the innocents who we are tasked with keeping from harm.

I’m getting a new puppy soon and am now worried sick. Is it ok to get any of the vaccines?

Ps. Are you on Parlor? Asking, because I posted this article to FB. It will be censored and I’ll be in FB jail. Oh well. If you had a link to Parlor we could get this information out and it would reach more people. Happy New Year.

You are so correct, the media isn’t going to report on this “fact”. Bravo Dr. Falconer. Bravo!. Now that is unprecedented! You have saved my critters from unnecessary harm and me from heart ache. My animals are flourishing. And that “murder weapon” the covid vaccine isn’t coming within 10ft of me. I’m dumbfounded by the number of people taking pictures of themselves receiving the 1st dose. ???? You need affirmation that you are a fool? Who does that?

    • Will Falconer, DVM on January 3, 2021 at 11:22 pm

It’s mind blowing to me as well. Wasn’t aware of the picture taking, but I believe it. A bit like the lemmings, sounds like. The cliff may be a year or two or several off, but it awaits those who mindlessly follow their peers.

Dr Falconer. It has been two years since my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has had parvo or distemper, I was thinking about titers, but don’t see a need every year with the duration of immunity. He did have bordatella and rabies before I really became educated, which I am so disappointed in myself for, what can we buy for him to detox ? He is currently eating Dr Harveys RAW Vibrance, and for mornijg we will start on Steves very soon. Before for the last year it was Freshpet. We are learning and getting better.

Also, if we get a puppy in the future, would you recommend nosodes instead of vaccines as a puppy ? We would want to do everything right at that point. Thank you.

    Marie

      Hey Marie,

Odds are, the immunity is long lasting, “years if not life,” say the vet immunologists. If you get curious at some point, you could check a titer at ProtectThePets.com very affordably, but I’d be cautious about jumping to another vaccine, even if “low.”

Detox is a dish best served daily, as we learn more about the planet’s level of pollution in food, air, water, etc. We created Vital Animal Detox to be a powerful daily supplement to gently get the accumulated heavy metals, pesticides, drug residues, etc out of the animal’s body so they can be fully functioning the way Nature intended.

Also, a caution on Steve’s: they buckled and went to HPP last year, so “raw” is questionable after a treatment like that. I far prefer the wild game sourced, zero GMO Raw Wild. (That’s a link to learn more and order).

Finally, please never look back with regrets. We did what we knew best, and you are to be congratulated for learning more and doing better right along! That’s huge, and every future animal will benefit!

Here’s how to do new pups right: Strong immunity with no vaccines.

Having studied and written about vaccines for 4 decades, my position is that ALL vaccines are ALL poison, ALL the time, in ALL doses. And, those who don’t have immediate and violent reactions to them are sadly mistaken if they believe they have not suffered some damage.
There is also no proof of protection, and I have seen that time after time. Working in dog and cat rescue, it became obvious to me that when all other factors are equal (quality of food, water, environment), the unvaccinated animals always fared much better, over-all.

There IS a law in nature called “survival of the fittest.” It’s just a fact in the material world. But if every person and every other animal is mass vaccinated, we will have no “fittest” left.

    • Will Falconer, DVM on August 10, 2020 at 10:17 pm

Sue, vaccination has long been my #1 predictor of chronic disease in pets. The tricky part is, it’s often delayed: a month post-vaccination is a common interval, and then The Itch or Funky Ears or worse starts to show.

I still see its greatest value in 3rd world countries where rabies accounts for 50-60K deaths annually (Africa and India, mostly). Good data that when volunteers vaccinate a large percentage of owned or stray dogs (the chief carrier there), the death rate and bite incidence drops significantly.

Very informative article. Thank you so much for sharing. We learned thru the years that the vaccinated pets have so much chronic disease, allergies, hot spots, ear issues, aggressive issues, smelly issues, illness and ends in cancer. The non vaccinated pets are healthy with no chronic disease. Many cannot fathom that the global elite and bill gates planned this plandemic starting some 20 years ago, Agenda 21, with the plan to go in effect in 2020 to prepare for the shutdown of society 2021, to shut down the economy, make most the masses homeless so they will line up for the slow kill cv vaccine and lower the population as too many useless people and bill gates says anyone who is stupid enough to wear a mask has low brain intelligence and needs to be deleted with the slow kill chronic CV vaccine and with bill gates patents for mandatory cv vaccine and mandatory microchips, bill gates will make billions more. Bill gates has murdered more children around the world with his chronic illness toxic vaccines to make more billions, then bill gates made in the computer internet industry. Now bill gates is busy closing down all food production, farms, ranches, food manufacturing as a shortage in food will help delete the excessive brain washed from watching tv, masses, or as bill gates says the useless breathers and useless eaters taking up space in his world. The elite globalists and elite families never vaccinate as they know the truth about vaccines. Vaccines are strictly sold to the masses. Sell to the masses, eat with the classes. Bill Gates does this even better, make toxic vaccines mandatory, and be the richest man and lower the population with chronic disease from slow kill cv vaccine. All tv media is owned by the globalists for propaganda. All the tv shows link in with more propaganda to make the lies even more believable on tv. Learn TheTruthAboutVaccines.com with interviews of doctors from around the world and StopMandatoryVaccines.com with expert Larry Cook. Save your pets and childrens health, stop toxic vaccines. That will save a fortune in vet bills as healthy pets won’t have chronic health issues.

I agree with you in thinking our pets are over vaccinated. I wish the titer testing was more available at vet offices.

With the topic of children – declining to vaccinated now while Covid keeps people indoors makes sense… but what happens when the doors and world open back up? What happens when the risk factor increases dramatically – unknown exposure and no protection.

Admittedly I don’t know the numbers on leading causes of infant death so maybe my rationale is off base.

Thanks for the thought provoking article!

    • Will Falconer, DVM on August 10, 2020 at 10:12 pm

The thoughts not fully expressed was that the decline in infants deaths was largely due to a decline in SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). The official medical lingo around SIDS is “cause unknown,” but many have thought vaccines were the most likely cause. So, less routine vaccines, less SIDS, bringing less infant deaths.

As to protection, there are finally some good studies out showing unvaccinated children are far healthier than those vaccinated. As always, an intact, undisturbed, well nourished immune system is our best defense, regardless of age.

Titer testing is cheaper and always available (with interpretation and “gold standard” testing) from Protect The Pets dot com.

    • Andrea on August 12, 2020 at 6:38 am

Any vet can now do in clinic titer testing quite cheaply https://vaccicheck.com/
except rabies, but through Dr Schultz you can, although my one vial of blood was not able to be tested when it was delivered.

      • Fain Zimmerman on August 24, 2020 at 7:28 pm

Where can you get the rabies checked?

  8. Marianna Conner on August 9, 2020 at 9:39 am

Another big consideration about decreased infant mortality is with the COVID-19 lockdown infants under the age of 1 year were not being exposed to the RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) the #1 reason for infants under 1 year being hospitalized.
