Barn Mice, Beware!

Barn CatMy friend and client Gina Benner heads up animal care for the Williamson Country Humane Society, and alerted me today that they’ve got some 84 barn cats as a result of an ASPCA hoarding case. These are not house cats, but rather semi-wild, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. These cats are FREE to a good outdoor/barn home.

I’d love to know how/why a person should be prosecuted for “hoarding” beings that live outside, and are, therefore, by definition, free to come and go as they please?! Prosecutorily speaking, Williamson County is pretty over-the-top about a lot of things, so this shouldn’t surprise me!

I don’t know details, except there were 84 cats. Seems like a lot, and I suspect they had pretty much run out of wild food.
