#27 CBD: Wide potential to help all

My guest is Zac Pilossoph, DVM, who’s wearing several hats these days but I asked him on to share his knowledge about cannabis and its application in pet health. His curiosity about this plant has lead him to take advantage of repeated educational opportunities so that he can help champion its use for your animals.

What are cannabinoids, the compounds we are hearing so much about that are present in this plant?

And why does every animal with a spine, us included, have a widely distributed “endocannabinoid” system that helps us maintain homeostasis, that balanced state where we both feel great and function as Nature intended?

Dr. Zac calls this the “Master Regulatory System,” and sees it as the perfect complement to the immune system we know to be so immune in surveillance.

Listen in to find out what frontiers of CBD use in animals are exciting Zac and learn how you can do your due diligence in this “Wild West” of cannabis supplements we find ourselves in.

My 2 yr old dobe began having focal seizures at 21 months and had different kind of episodes that would last several hours starting at 6 months, then again at 16 months for many months. My homeopathic vet diagnosed vaccinosis, and especially rabies vaccinosis. He has almost all the symptoms. At one point he was so anorexic, seizures, and other symptoms we thought he might die. The vet had me start him on 15mg CBD twice a day and 15-30mg during a seizure. The seizure would stop immediately after using CBD! If we hadn’t witnessed it we wouldn’t have believed how fast it works. He was initially having multiple focal seizures a day when they first started and now 5 months later he has about 2 a month. He is also sensitive to energy and has Electrical Hypersensitivity EHS which has a huge effect on his body from WiFi, cell towers, cell phones. People or animals with EHS usually have higher levels of heavy metals. We were living temporarily in a high EMF area and 5G when the focal seizures started 3 months after we moved to this area. Previously we had lived in the country with no neighbours and turn WiFi off at night. We have since moved to a much better environment where we will build a no WiFi, low EMF house, with no neighbours. Using Pulsed Electromagnetic Field PEMF device on him also helps immensely.
Using CBD myself at a low dose was fine, but higher dose of the same brand (different brand than the one I used for my dog) caused severe GI bloating from the stomach all the way down.

Thank you so much for this info!! I have used CBD oil with my own pets (dogs, cats, horse) for various things and have noticed positive differences! Also, as an animal communicator, I’ve had a few animals mention during sessions that they could benefit from CBD oil for various health issues. Great podcast once again!
