Welcome to the Vital Animal Podcast!
#1: What’s a Vital Animal?/Founder’s Story
In this first episode, I outline what my definition of a Vital Animal is and why they are such a hoot to live with. These animals are very often conversation starters, so be careful: if you’re a shy person who doesn’t like to talk with other animal caregivers, you just might want to avoid public places with your pet in tow.
If, on the other hand, you like to engage and share how you got Sadie to look so gorgeous and be so spry (when others her age are being called “seniors!”), go to every dog park, hiking area, cat stomping grounds, and pet friendly shop and just let the magic happen.
Odds are, those conversations will change others pets’ lives for the better.
You Went Through What?
I share my “founder’s story” on this first episode as well, as it’s a bit atypical. I wasn’t so much disenchanted with conventional practice as I was open to new ideas. One of those was “follow your intuition without hesitation.”
Yeah, that’s what I did when I quit my partnership practice the night after I was inspired by, well, a thought that I might be here to do something other than what I’d been so good at for the past 7 years.
Turns out, following that intuition was a world rocker for me.
You’ll want to tune in for the details, but the short version is, I likely wouldn’t be here as I am today, serving so many animal owners to gain knowledge and thereby empowerment.

In the next episode, join me as I interview one of my chief mentors when I broke away from conventional medicine, Dr. Richard Pitcairn.
While you may know him as a natural health, homeopathic vet and author, it turns out he’s got a background as an epidemiologist, virologist, and immunologist. Timely stuff.
Episode Two: Viruses and Immunity, with Richard Pitcairn, DVM, PhD
